Robot Finds and "Kicks" IR Soccer Ball

In this video, a Mouse robot equipped with a turret mount and IR phototransistor locates the infrared signal emitted from a special soccer ball (used in RoboCup Junior and similar competitions). A Line-Following Robot at George School, 2006

Every year, each of my robotics students turns their robots into a line-follower. The robot we use is the “Mouse”, which is manufactured by Robodyssey Systems. By adding a couple of Robodyssey’s infrared proximity sensors to the Mouse, the robot can be programmed to follow a black line.
